Bio of Pastor Marty - written by Daniel Mitchum (Read Pastor Marty's monthly article)
Pastor Marty was born in Madison, WI to a Naval nurse and a Naval doctor. After Marty was born the Dasler family moved around a bit in Wisconsin.
Pastor Marty's confirmation verse was Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me”. It was at his confirmation that he felt God called him into the ministry. Pastor Marty attended Concordia High School in Milwaukee about 200 miles from his parents. This program was only for boys and prepared them for the ministry. This program was a 6 year program that went from freshman year of high school and concluded after sophomore year of college. For his junior and senior years of college Pastor Marty attended Concordia Teachers College in River Forest, Ill.
While attending Concordia Teachers College, Pastor Marty met his beautiful wife Claire. The couple has 2 children as well as 2 grand children, Josh who lives in Seattle, and Erin who lives in Columbus, OH with her 2 children.
A couple of fun tidbits about Pastor Marty, he loves seafood pasta but doesn’t like Bleu Cheese Dressing. His favorite class in school was science because he really enjoys the content. His best overall Halloween Costume was a “new hymnal”.
Pastor Marty's favorite Bible story is the one about the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in Eden. Pastor Marty's favorite bible text is "All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation." (2 Corinthians 5:18). |
